I came home from t-ball with the boys this morning, and as I looked out the back door I saw something sticking up slightly from the water in the lake. When I went outside to investigate, my suspicions were confirmed - we have an alligator. I called our neighbor and she ran down the block to gaze in horror at the site with me. Looks like we'll be playing inside the house today!

One word...AHHHHHHHHH!
I TOLD you so. There, I got to say it.Hah!
Cindy, if I were you I would contact the authorities to see if there is a way to get the alligator out of there. I don't mean to scare you but gators can walk out of the lake and wander around backyards. They do it where we live.
I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. I remember when the movie "Jaws" first came out and everyone was afraid to swim in the ocean. Not me. Shark attacks were quite rare. Alligators, on the other hand...I have some pretty scary memories regarding a water skiing incident...((shudder))
Contact the Florida Wildlife Commission: 352-732-1225. You have small children and I'm sure they'll take your concerns seriously...most wildlife removal companies aren't licensed to handle alligators.
Blessings!!
SInce people much wise than me have given you sage advice, I feel free to say....AHHHHHHHH!
