Please say a little prayer

I'm leaving to go on a retreat tomorrow morning and won't be home until Sunday afternoon. Chris will be with the boys all by himself all weekend. Any little prayers you can offer up for my saint of a husband would be appreciated!

Space Shuttle Endeavor

In recognition of the return of the space shuttle Endeavor, here is some video I shot of the take off of the shuttle. Chris and I set our alarms for 2 a.m. and made sure to head outside to watch one of the last night launches - there will be a few more, but as long as we're so close why not lose a little sleep, right?

Happy Make Up Your Own Holiday

Thanks to Dawn over at By Sun and Candlelight for clueing me in that today is National Make Up Your Own Holiday. In honor of such, I took the Blogthings quiz and here's what holiday I am:

You Are Thanksgiving

You are a bit of a homebody who enjoys being in the company of people you love.

It doesn't take a lot to make you happy. You're enjoying life as it is.

You have many blessings in your life, and you are grateful for each one.

You believe that life is about what you *do* have. You feel like you have enough of the good stuff.

What makes you celebrate: Family, friends, and the changing of the seasons.

At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The host of the party

On a holiday, you're the one most likely to: Spend so much energy preparing that it's a full time job

Too bad Christmas is my favorite - oh well, Thanksgiving does make me feel warm and homey!

How was your Easter?

I know I have been a bit of a slacker in posting lately, so I have some ground to make up in recording what's been going on in our life for the past month - and believe me, there's been a lot and I have a ton of posts to put up. But I'm not feeling guilty about my blog (see top of my sidebar).

So here's a little idea of what went on here for Easter. This is the first year in a long while that we have not spent it with my parents. My parents went up to see my brother and his family in Virginia, and my sister went down to her in-laws, so Chris, the boys and I had a nice weekend together spending lots of time just as our family. We dyed eggs on Saturday night. We all went to church in the morning, and then went out to Denny's for breakfast. After enduring Brian's "I want to go to Cracker Barrel!!!" for about 15 minutes, he settled down and we had a nice breakfast. After we got home, we searched for our baskets, enjoyed the fruits (or candy!) and the boys all headed up for a well deserved nap. The afternoon saw an egg hunt in our front yard followed by some playing in the brisk Florida afternoon. Dinner was a honey glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, asparagus and rolls. Brian & Sean ate none of it - oh well, it's a process we are in.

Easter night before we went to bed, I pulled out this set that I purchased from Terry's Village, and told Brian, Sean and Colin the story of the resurrection. They were enthralled. They asked me to tell them again, and again. The second time around, I had them place the figures in their places. It was really neat to watch their minds absorbing the story.

I hope you and yours had a wonderful and blessed Easter.

Same trucks, 2 years later

2 Years ago for Easter, the Easter Bunny brought Brian & Sean some fun big trucks over at their Gramma & Grampa's house.

Same boys, just a bit bigger! My, how times flies!

Darkness

For the next three hours we will be in darkness over here - talking about what Jesus went through on the cross. From darkness always comes the light. Many blessings to all.

YIKES!

So I've been a total slacker. I could blame it on Lent - but that would be a lie. Let's just say that with this broken ankle, all the meds I'm taking and trying to somehow run a house and take care of my husband and children, that I've neglected my poor little blog. Ah, well, priorities, right?

I do have so much to blog about, but in order to get myself back in the groove, I'm going to start with a simple "quiz". Beware - this test is addictive. Leave me a comment and let me know what your score is - that is if I have any readers left after this long absence!
