Brian's Birthday Party

Sunday we celebrated Brian's 4th birthday with his friends. We took over the neighborhood pool and had a great time.

It was an unseasonably cool July day. Last year, Chris' sweat was sweating, so the temperate weather was a lovely change. Kids started arriving around noon. Brian had 9 friends come to his party (unfortunately, Nicky had had a fever the day before and was unable to come). They had fun frolicking in the water, eating pizza and cake, and playing pin the number on Thomas. Campbell was our big winner!

We're so glad we were able to celebrate one more birthday with Brian's friends before we move South.

Kary, Daniella & David

Mary Beth, Katie, Joey & Tyler eating pizza.

Colin laughing at Mr. Richards

Katie & Gracie playing in the water.

Can't beat a good Thomas cake!

Audrey & Campbell playing in the water fountains.

Fun in the water. What a great way to spend your birthday - good friends & the pool!

Overheard...

Mommy: "Sean, you need to be gentle with baby Colin."

Sean: "Mommy, may I pwease poke eyes out?"

Well, at least the constant reminder about good manners are working!

Why did we wait 4 years to do this???

The town we live in has a Summer Concert Series each year. Most Fridays during the summer, a band, or group plays a concert down at the Town Green. Every summer that we have lived here, friends and neighbors have asked us if we were going to go down to the Green for the concert. Here were our excuses:

  • 2003 - VERY pregnant with Brian, and then recovering from a c-section with a newborn
  • 2004 - pretty pregnant with Sean, Brian going to bed at 8pm (concerts start at 7 pm)
  • 2005 - 2 small boys who go to bed at 8pm, and me not wanting to veer off the bedtime routine

  • 2006 - pregnant with Colin, had a broken ankle, and 2 slightly bigger, but still small boys who go to bed at 8 pm, and me not wanting to veer off the bedtime routine
Why haven't we done this before?

Of course we discover this great, free activity right before we are moving. Doh!

Brian and Sean's best friend, Tyler, showing them how to make music with a balloon.

Never let it be said that white boys can't dance! Shake that groove thang, Sean!
