Umm, what exactly are you saying, Sean

I have a similar scale to this in our bathroom. Colin loves to press all the buttons and hear the beeping noise.

This morning, Sean was playing around with the scale. I told him to hop on it and stand very still and we would see what he weighed. 35 pounds. Great job Sean.

He hopped off, stooped down to look closer at the scale and said, "Okay Mommy, time to monitor your fat." (The scale reads "Tanita Fat Monitor") Sometimes this early reading this isn't so good for Mommy's self esteem!

I-A-Woo-Ya

Anyone recognize this tune?

"I-A-Woo-Ya,
I-A-Woo-Ya,
Give thanks to the risen Lord,
I-A-Woo-Ya,
I-A-Woo-Ya,
Give praise to His name!"

Some Kids Know Their A-B-Cs

Mine know that and the names of all of the restaurants!

"Mommy, there's McDonalds!"
"Mommy, there's Burger Kingdom!"
"Mommy, there's Perkins!"
"Mommy, there's Unos!"
"Mommy, there's Dunkin' Donuts!"
"Mommy, there's Starbucks!"
"Mommy, there's Sonic!"
"Mommy, there's Cracker Barrel!"

(Can you tell we ate out a lot when we first moved down here?)

Funny Things Little People Say

Brian: "Daddy, your breath is stinky!
Daddy: "Well, I just smoked a cigar..."
Brian: "No, Daddy, your breath smells like a skunk"
Brian: "Daddy, I think a skunk came and sprayed in your mouth!"

(are we proud of the fact that he knows that skunks spray their stink, or embarrassed about our breath?)

Sean: (YAWN)
Mommy: "Sean, are you sleepy?"
Sean: "Yes, I'm sleepy in my mouth."

What do you love...

During lunch today I asked Brian and Sean what they love about different people, and here's what they told me:

Gramma - "I love that she plays with me"
Grampa - "I love that he teaches me to swim and goes swimming with me"
Grampa Kelly - "I love that he gives me hugs"

The boy knows his restaurants

After a long day at Epcot, we were looking for a quick bite to eat. Chris and I saw a sign for Steak & Shake and McDonald's and opted out of Mickey D's. Brian asked where we were going and we told him we were going to get some food.

Brian: "Mommy, can we go to Bob Evan or Perkins?"
Mommy: "No, buddy. We're going to Steak & Shake - we'll even get you a milkshake. There aren't any Perkins here."

2 minutes later...

Brian: "Look Mommy, there's a Perkins! And there's a McDonald's and a Burger Kingdom!"
Mommy: "(Darn!)"

"Watch" out

Overheard...

Daddy: "Brian, that's Mommy's watch."
Brian: "But I need it."
Daddy: "What do you need it for?"
Brian: "I need it to do stuff."

And I just thought my watch told the time...who knew it could do "stuff"!

Now I lay me...

After a chocolate filled evening last night, I brought the boys home to put them to bed. As we do every night, I had them say their prayers before hopping into bed. Brian said his prayers, and then Sean sat on my lap to say his:

Now I way me
Down to sweep
Pway da Ward
My soul to keep
Bwess me, make me good boy
Bwess
Mommy, Daddy, Bwian, Sean, Baby Cowin
Gwamma, Gwampa, Gwampa Kelly
All fwiends, Thank you God
Everything
Amen
And thank you for Katie Foss, Misses Foss, David and Lala

What a way to start the day.

This morning, my lovely husband let me sleep in since Mr. Colin and I were hanging out together from 5 am to 7 am.

When I came down the stairs, I was met by big smiles from Brian and Sean. When I sat on the couch, this is the conversation that followed...

Brian - "Mommy, you're the best mommy!" (totally unsolicited, mind you)

Mommy - "Thanks, buddy!" (insert huge smile on my face)

Brian - "No, Mommy, you're the best mommy ever!

What a way to start my day!
